Does anyone know (or can point towards a reliable source) of information relating to the very first cars that received the STi treatment. The cars I am looking for info on are those before the Limited Edition runs of 100 & 200. I seem to remember reading somewhere about the very early cars that STi tuned following requests from purchasers of the WRX who wanted more (!!), hence STi took the vehicles as a special order, eventually leading on to the x/100 & x/200 runs. From memory the x/100&200 runs were put into production following the over-welming demand for the 'first run' vehicles. For the life of me cant remember where I saw the arcticle !

Sorry forgot to mention that these were not officially badged etc as an STi but received the treatment (similar to John Cooper taking the mini senario).

I have been in touch with Marky San although never received his 'form' that he mentioned. Think you mis-read me!! I am looking for details of the Sti builds before the x/100 & x/200 runs. BAsically I think it was the run that got STi interested in the road vehicles as they were purely working on race vehicles before. They way I understood it was that they were preparing Subaru race stuff and had several requests from WRX owners for tweaking etc. They then ' attended ' to WRX's that owners asked them to improve, which THEN led to the x/100 & x/200 runs. If you will, Pre-cursor to the production of STi cars for the road.

The '100' & '200' are the only ones I've ever read/heard off? Engine codes show when first STI's were released. So are there tuned WRX's that pre-date the STI runs, and what denotes them as being such?

The 'form' I sent out a text version to 2 people and you weren't one of them as I put out the 'FAO Dirtboy' post to try find you. Requests received from Esoteric and Exesspeed. Nothing from you that I can find, unless you sent it to my work addy as I requested you not to do. It gets intercepted by out IT folk.
