Please please please stop going on about how good scoobies are. I have been hankering for one for years and years and years.
The trouble is I have bought one now, a brand spanker of an STI8 in blue, with some performance mods added. Its still waiting at the dealership though for me personal plate to be fitted before I can pick her up. I cant sleep at night, i wake up thinking about it. How sad am I?

So please tell me it will be an awfull car and stop going on .....

Fanx for that I feel a whole lot better now, now i have the dilemma that i have spent £24.5K on a crap car. Not sure whats worse....haha

Just wanted to say one thing. In the last few days I have been coming on here i have realised that this place is well cool. There is always something going on and people are willing to chat. Keep it up and I will be becoming a regular i think

Gary - I wouldn't be sleeping too - that car is definatly lovely! You lucky man

Keep your eye out for the Hampshire Subaru stuff if you fancy meeting a couple more owners (hantsscoobies) or just joining in with a few choice events

Sti's are AWFUL. They're sticky (to the road) and they stink (as in go-like). The performance mods just make them stinkier!

Sleep well

Phil

Edited to say that that should be "AWEFUL"

Edited to say that you get an ineradicable grin on your face. Makes you look awful stupid

Its a great car.. as long as its not a friday afternoon job like mine is slowly turning out to be.

a) 17's changed for oz 18's 10 spoke, with pzero neros.... vibrations at 70-80, wheels re-balanced twice, no improvement, need a new set of wheels and/or tyres by the looks
b) door card lugs not pushed home, so couple of hundred miles with rattles from the cabin
c) plastic surround next to wipers keeps unclipping, new clips on order
d) fuzzing wiper relay
e) 1st & 2nd being a real pain to select for the first 10 mins of using the car - having to double-de-clutch the thing (side effect of quick shift? who knows!)
f) tracking so far out, that it would move from lane 3 to lane 1 in 100 yards
g) ... and now a whine coming from the ppp fuel pump
h) hand brake didnt seem to be adjusted as part of the PDI (full on and the car could still be moved), then after the 1000 mile, some shuddering from the back end, as if they adjusted it too much and it was binding/rubbing... stopped after about 2 mins at 60mph

Sorry, just things are culminating in something bad at the moment I am sure yours will be fine

Richie.
