I'm on the verge of buying my first Impreza - a standard UK 1999 classic shape.

I presume it must run on SUL, but is there really any quantifiable and *proven* benefit to putting in Octane Booster as well? I'm likely to be doing a lot of miles in it in the short term (like 800-1000 a week) so want to keep the costs down as much as is sensible to do.

Cheers
Tim

The higher the octane the less change of detonating and the more likely your ECU won't pull timing. i.e. engine longevity and improved performance.

I thought that UK cars didn't need to run SUL / Booster, only imports?

A UK MY99 shouldn't need octane booster, even if it's been decatted, but any dafter mods - then think about it
