Hi Guys,

Your urgent attention and advice is needed.

Should I buy the following? (2nd hand of course)

COMPLETE SUBARU IMPREZA TURBO SCOOBYSPORT EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM REMOVES BOTH THE ORIGINAL CATS, ONE IN THE FRONT PIPE AND ONE IN THE CENTRE SECTION. THE REAR SILENCER HAS A 3" ROUND OPENING AND HAS A POLISHED FINISH.
THE ENTIRE CONSTRUCTION IS STAINLESS STEEL AND IS COVERED WITH A 25 YEAR WARRANTY. THE FRONT PIPE OPENING WHICH JOINS TO THE TURBO IS 50% LARGER THAN THE ORIGINAL, THIS HAS A MASSIVE EFFECT ON THE TIME THAT THE TURBO TAKES TO DEVELOP FULL BOOST, WHICH BASICALLY MEANS THERE IS A LOSS OF TURBO LAG, IN REAL TERMS THE TURBO CUTS IN AT APPROX 1000 REVS LESS.
THE COMPLETE SYSTEM SOUNDS FANTASTIC, BUT IS NOT OFFENSIVE UNLIKE SOME SYSTEMS AND IS O.K FOR USE ON MOTORWAYS ETC.
IT FITS ALL MY94-MY01 CLASSIC SHAPE IMPREZA'S TURBOS INCLUDING THE FIVE DOOR.
DONT MISTAKE THIS SYSTEM FOR A CHEAP MAGNEX OR SCORPION ITEM, IT COST OVER £800 NEW AND FITS PERFECTLY. YOUR IMPREZA WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN, NO MORE FLUFFY THROTTLE RESPONSE, NO WATING FOR THE CAR TO PICK UP AND WATCH THE NEEDLE FLY INTO THE RED AS THE ENGINE PULLS LIKE A TRAIN.

I have been offered it for £300, but I know nowt about this sort of thing as I am a new scooby boy!

I drive a 99V 5Door Impreza Wagon.

All help is massively aprreciated

ps i have seen pictures of the kit and it looks clean!

Cheers

Micky

Not a bad price IMO.
£800 is a bit out however cos you can get the the above, brand new from Scoobysport for £646.25.
See here
Quite how a Magnex can be described as cheap is beyond me

I've got a Scoobysport front downpipe fitted (which is OK) it makes the turbo whistle a bit louder, but I got rid of the back box as it gave me a headache on motorways.

The quality is not as good as the original or HKS and TSL IMO but you get what you pay for - 300 quid ain't a bad price. Unless you're gonna fit it yourself (I've heard the downpipe is a bit of a bummer) it's gonna cost you to fit it.

I'd go for an HKS system personally in retrospect if u can afford it but as I said u really get what u pay for.

Sounds like a reasonable deal.

You should try to find out what make it is - that will give a better guide as to it's true value.

If its the full system its a bargain. The down pipes change hands for £150ish 2nd hand and the back box's go for £150-£200.

Buy it and enjoy it, just get MOT'd before you fit it all.

Normally the warranty is for the original purchaser/original vehicle only and is not transferrable. I would check this out, as it may influence your opinion on how good the price is.

Its loud on a wagon

but if you don't have a problem with that, I say GO FOR IT!

Whether the warranty transfers or not - surely the fact that the company is willing to offer a long warranty like this is enough to satisfy that its a top bit of kit?
