Question

Hiya folks,

Can anyone on here help? My other half is looking for some extremely sticky, heavy duty, waterproof pads to fix his reg plate to his P1.

Can anyone recommend any good ones and where we can get some from?

Thanks

If you ask at a main dealers they will probably have some. They use a special double sided sticky foam tape on a roll. Very stick stuff designed just to hold reg plates on!

Halfords do them in 3mm or 6mm (for "curvier" applications).

I got some number plate tape from A1 autostores a while back, double sided foam stuff, sticks really well, just remember to really clean the area first, use some white spirit or turps on the area first to remove any polish or wax residue.

Go to homebase..!!

They have some very strong velcro pads which are very tough i used these for my front number plate..!! They are black and around 1inch long. Its not like normal velcro.

I would recomend using screws to secure the plate - I've know of a fair few to fall off in my time.

Which also makes it harder for somebody to nick your plates to avoid congestion charging if you live London way...

The idea was not to see the screws on the plate ;-)

But thanks anyway. Will be popping to Halfords to get the pads which 'don't ' fall off! ;-)
