10 reasons why my Ford Fiesta is better than your Scooby:

1. I don't need to colour code everything

2. I can concentrate on driving instead of wondering who's admiring my car

3. You'll give way to me - your car is more expensive

4. I can nick those tight parking spaces

5. Cheaper tax

6. I only need third party insurance. Who's gonna nick a clapped out Fiesta

7. If it breaks down , hey I just throw it away and buy another one.

8. Mines don't go through petrol like water

9. I don't need to drive for miles to get a service. any garage will take it.

10. I'll never get nicked for speeding.

A clear winner.

Can i question point 6?

Report by Which?

As manufacturers improve security for new models, thieves are turning their attention to older cars. Older models like Rover's Austin Metro, Maestro and Montego, the Ford Fiesta, Escort and Sierra and the Vauxhaull's Nova, Astra and Cavalier fall into the most-stolen category, according to the Home Office.

Oh! no mention of Scoobies, but oh yes a Fiesta!

Ok then m8, in direct response to your points:

1. I don't need to colour code everything
No, you guys just feel the need put a unpainted front splitter on them

2. I can concentrate on driving instead of wondering who's admiring my car
No, in fact you spend most your time trying to find where that "rattle" is coming from.

3. You'll give way to me - your car is more expensive
We have to, we cant rely on your brakes can we!

4. I can nick those tight parking spaces
Er, dunno about that one, er, we dont park, we like to drive too much!

5. Cheaper tax
Yeah, not a lot I can do about that one either

6. I only need third party insurance. Who's gonna nick a clapped out Fiesta
Depends if its a fiesta which has been magnatised and driven through Halfords!

7. If it breaks down , hey I just throw it away and buy another one.
What is this thing you call "breaking down"?

8. Mines don't go through petrol like water
Yes, but you go through Oil instead!

9. I don't need to drive for miles to get a service. any garage will take it.
Yes, but I doubt the local scrap yard will take it without paying them!

10. I'll never get nicked for speeding.
Definately right there, but we have radar detectors

Hehe, I used to love my Fiesta, and alas it was worth more when I sold all the mods off seperately

very funny ford fiesta BOY. However I'm a Subaru Impreza MAN- here's my version of your bullet points

1.My car is already colour coded- it came that way from the factory

2.I concentrate on my driving cos I don't care who's looking and my car handles like a dream

3.I wont give way to you if you don't have right of way- my car cost less than 10K which lets face it is not a lot of cash- I also have airbags and better crash protection.

4.I also park in tight spaces- I have side protection strips and as I said before my car is a sub 10K hack

5.Road Tax- I can easily afford to run a subaru a few pennies in saved tax hardly matters

6.Ditto Insurance costs

7. Ditto fuel costs

8. My Subaru doesn't break down (funny you mentioned that one eh Mr Fiesta)

9.There are garages within a 20 mins drive of my house that will service the car. Also as they are somewhat less in number their standards are extremely high (by FORD standards anyway)

10. I will never get nicked for speeding (you'll never take me alive copper!- I also have a GPS based detector see "money no object")

So in retrospect it turns out your Fiesta is a car driven by housewives and the impecunious. Next time buy an RS Focus and you might have a point!

Cant beat little Fiestas!! I've got a B plate 1.9 St3 Turbo XR2 and reckon it would do well against a scoob up the strip!! Not knocking scoobs though as I did have a MY00 wrx and thought it was the nuts!!
