Quick question:

OK, people seem to abbreviate the MY03 STI to just 'STI8'

Anything similar for MY03 WRX?

That's because they are wrong in calling it an STi8!!!!

Officially in the UK it's an Impreza III.

If the STi nomenclature was carried over from previous models (STi V5/6) then the first UK STi should be an 8 and the current one a 9 as there was an 01MY STi in Japan. The only problem is that this system is no longer officially used.

Sorry, pet hate of mine.........!

Regards

Mike

Easier to type 'STi8' than 'Subaru Impreza III STi Type UK' ... praps i'll just call mine 'FAJ'... short for 'Friday Afternoon Job'

Mike wood,
can you tell me if the new 03 wrx ppp is a totally different ecu than the 01/02 as the other ppp derivatives seemed to take ages to be released when there model no's came out . this one as been really quick. i just hope i'm getting what i've paid for and not a quick upgrade from the standard ecu used on the previous cars, as it was mean't to be quicker in the first place and i don't wish to be only on par after the upgrade to the last ppp on the 02. if you see what i mean ? or i might aswell of bought an 02' with ppp alot cheaper .

The base ECU isn't massively different between 02 & 03MY WRX but the way we have done the ECU modification is totally different although the net effect is a similar torque increase.

Hi Mike,

Just about to place my order for WRX with PPP. Can you please advise what the official BHP and torque figure is. Also any performance figures would be interesting.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks for the quick response Mike, I'll order the car in the morning, from my excellent Subaru dealer in York.

They tell me it's around 10 days delivery for the PPP, is that correct?

Question

I have a WRX PPP on order, with delivery scheduled soon. Having looked at the links, I still am keen to know whether the optional back box as pictured(on the pro-drive site) is the same one that comes with PPP? Can anyone please confirm.

Cheers.
