Question

As the title suggests i'm hoping to look at a few this weekend and
would like to know of anything to look out for, other than the usual used car stuff.

Thanks
Grahame

good choice! have you had a look at www.rb5oc.co.uk

I cant think of anything specific to the RB5. General things would be to make sure the cambelt has been changed, check condition of front discs (approx £400 to replace at a Subaru dealer), condition of the alloys as the colour is a pain to match.

If there is anything you want to know about the RB5 ask away.

GrahameS - sorry, only just seen your questions! Not sure what the Oct 00 refers to. But if you send a mail to RB5 286 he has collected all this info so may be able to help you.
The car will (or at least should) have a cat 1 alarm/immobiliser as standard. There should be a certificate to confirm this - this is quite important as a lot of insurance companies (in particular Greenlight who I am now with on mine) will want to see a copy of it.
Feel free to email me if you have any more questions, although I am off home soon and wont be online until Monday.
Have fun looking.

Accident damage! Check under the carpets (side one's as well) in the boot, they just pull out; floor pan condition (under vehicle, look for off road excursions); chassis rails, under bonnet, down either side of the engine. Also check door shuts for new spray paint thats slightly different in shine, good sign of a repair respray, metallic fleck never sits the same as a factory spray job.

One thing not to worry about is a slight tapping noise from the engine, they all do it.

Its good to see your driving a few rather than just one, even if the first one seems perfect. Enjoy..

wheres the spell checkaHHHHHH!!

Thanks Steve, i was pouring over that site as well as various
other RB5 posts last night trying to expand my knowledge..

There is a question you may be able to answer for me, in the
RB5 corner of the members gallery there is a list of RB5's and
owners etc. One of the RB5's in there is one that i'm thinking
of looking at, but against the owner it says "Oct '00" any ideas what this refers to ? it is on page 16 of that thread RB5 No. 053
to be exact.

Also is the factory alarm on these Cat 1 ?

Thanks
Grahame

P.S Thanks Hail-hail, thats ideal !

Thanks for your responses guys,

Ray_Li: We only have space for about 20 designers at
our place, and they are currently all taken i'm afraid !

If you e-mail me I can give you the name of the guy to send
CV's to, but he has peoples CV's sent to him all the time as
it is quite a popular place to work round this area, especially for graduates looking for stepping stones into F1 teams etc..

Cheers
Grahame
