If I was him, I wouldn't be sitting down in front of a PC for at least a few hours (days) from constant smiley driving!

We await the report (and I count down the days until my PPP gets fitted)...

Looks lovely!

Can't beleive you did not take the afternoon off to 'acquaint' yourself with your new purchase!

Now I've seen a piccie of the PPP exhaust, I know my wife is going to be chanting 'boy racer' for the next few months...

BTW, what spoiler have you had fitted?

Thats the Prodrive spoiler that delayed the pickup (takes 9 days to be sprayed)

BTW the exhaust ALSO sounds like a boy racer, im now wearing my Jordan hat (no not a hat with 2 huge ****s, its the GP team )

Here is my mini report:

I’ve gone from a 01 GX (bugeye) to this 03 WRX PPP.

My GX was the ‘Disc’s all round’ version and with the WRX wing, Full alarm/immob and Uprated Audio with 6CD

Here’s what’s changed:

1) Its newer (DOH)
2) I can walk round the front now without wincing
3) Its a Turbo
4) It scares me

Ok proper changes:

Interior
1) Its got a light for the Ignition, no more fumbling
2) Its got a QuickLock button (lock/unlock all doors) (Drivers door lock now only opens drivers door)
3) Alarm/immobilizer has QuickLock feature (Turn on ignition and all doors lock)
4) Worst looking (green LED) and sounding Audio system ive heard for a very long time (Kia sort of standard)
5) Seats are better than my GX but are higher then my GX! And you still slide about a bit.
6) Interior alarm sensors are right in you line of sight, every time the light or shade catches one I think someone its stepping out on me or something.
7) Dials, I like the new dials, the only difficulty is trying to stay within speed limits as 30 and 40 mph are barely off the bottom of the needle
8) boot, feels a lot more solid, carpeting is better (more substansual)

Exterior:

1) Bonnet scoop is a bit too big for my liking
2) Prodrive wing is lovely and doesn’t get in the way of rear view mirror very much (and you cant see it at all in side mirrors)
3) Prodrive Exhaust is HUGE, ive got to see my dad today and he’s not going to be able to stop laughing
4) Bonnet is so soft that it shakes and wobbles (can be seen on scoop and the seam with the wing)
5) Lights are a big improvement (dipped and full beam)
6) Wing mirrors DON’T 'whistle' at 80mph
7) Wheels are nice but do look a little small

Engine:

1) Smooth as silk
2) Really does pull (and im only using max half throttle and less than 4000 rpm)
3) Very impressed so far

Others
1) Fuel economy: believe it or not ive done 600 miles on 2 tank fulls (yes I’ve done 650miles total so far ), I cant believe it and ive not been super gental either.
2) Im having to brush my hair and not pick my nose as people are looking at me and my car now

Faults:

1) 3, yes 3 Dashboard rattles!
2) Bonnet and scoop bounce so much they actually manage to ‘bang’ into something when things get a little rough.
3) Knock/Clonk at Rear end when coming off roundabout, etc.
4) Intermittant big windup clonk on engauging clutch

Bad News: (Little story)

Sister: Will you give us a ride in your new car?
Me: I will take you for a little ride, im running it in so you wont really get the full picture.
Sister: Ok, lets go to … blar blar…
Sister and her husband get in the car. Sister in back
Brum.. Brum.. blar blar and so forth. Back to their house, sitting talking in car.
Sisters husband: Ok back into house now.
Meanwhile….. Child of about 9-10 yrs riding bike on pathment toward us, me and sisters husband wait…
Me and sisters husband hear a ‘Click’ which makes us both shout at the top of our voices ‘STOP’, next sound is BANG!!!!!
Im now a proud owner of a very badly scratched and dented (small dent) rear passenger door, made my weekend that did!

If I can think of anything else I’ll post it.

When im run in I’ll post another review on performance (and im sure the fuel economy will change)

I also have the clonk occasionally when going round sharp corners, usually at relatively low speed. Not sure what it is.

As for the dashboard rattles I think its from when the alarms are fitted before sale on the UK models. I've got one rattle which I cant find but tbh im not overly concerned with it at the moment. Its fine on good road surfaces, the trouble is finding a good road surface

How much did the sills cost to be coded btw?

can hear a clonk when put in reverse initially, then when to move forward it clonks again. put this down to pads imo snatching. any ideas ?. the only other thing i noticed was when you shut off at speed say 80, it seemed to skip the back end a bit, did make me wonder if anything was loose initially and could be the same as the clonking ?. probably just me trying to get used to 4wd again, but saying this, when cornering really hard, it seems to drift a little then point you in the right direction, so i really don't know, trial and error i think, let it develope if there is a problem. its under warranty, thats why a uk car is beneficial, less hassle i hope on problems rectifying them.

Unhappy

Sorry beefy,

Im not ignoring you, just i havnt got them colour coded, ran out of budget, so no uprated audio either

BTW i think i was quoted £50 initally added to the £500 to have it painted, but this has melted into the purchase price somewhere.

Simon

BTW here is my newstyle rear passenger door, please could you all make this same mark so that i can say its a modle feature please

The scratch is worse than the picture looks!

Thumbs down

Best quote for the repair so far is £260 + VAT

Simon is now wishing he bought the S2000 as his sister would not have been in the back seat!

Sorry to see the damage, a real gutter when considering the car is so new (not good at any time really).

Are the sills colour coded? I cant see for the light on the side of the car. If so how much did it cost. I almost got that spoiler on my car - v. nice but i couldnt quite stretch to it.
