I am now so pissed off with my service center. They had to take of off the intercooler and turbo to fit my PPP on my STi8. Then they did not even offer me a car for the weekend. I was screaming at them down the phone, there is now way on earth I am paying full price for it.

Yes the intercooler has to be removed to get at the turbo heatsheild and downpipe bolts.. But I can't see why the they had to "Remove" the turbo..!!
The complete PPP kit can be installed within 3 hours or so.. Well thats the time that it takes me :0)

the only reason i can think of to remove the turbo would be if one of the studs sheared off. i've done a couple on cars with less than 5000 mls and both had a stud that cracked off nice but after a couple of turns locked solid and eventually sheared the stud. they are even worse on older cars .

I agree should have only taken a couple of hours
for a stud to break off half a day +
I can only assume
1) Thread in the Turbo casting is Fecked and replacement Turbo sought.
2) Trying to retap the hole broke tap off and sent out to get it removed by a spark eroder.
or Both![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Brun is right, there's nothing quite like having a look at the vehicle in the flesh, don't ask though ,if possible just wander into the workshop(back entrance if possible[the worst they can do is say sorry you can't come in]) and mosy on over to the car ,ask a mech. 'who's dealing with this one ,mate' and take it from there but don't get angry with any mech.'s (bad idea) , 8 days is a disgrace ,but at least you'll get it from the horses mouth and not a 'cover' story from a service mgr.

The thing is, they are an honest dealer, they are just used to big open engines Like Rollers and Bentleys. This is the first Subaru they have ever sold, and the first PPP they have ever fitted so they keep on telling me how they dont want to mess it up. They also want to do tests on it afterwards to make sure that it is not overfuling etc etc. I think they might have seen taking the intercooler off as a last resort. (They were scared)
Do you think i am in the right to ask for a discount?

I'd tell them to stick in on a trailer and ship it to a scooby garage that know what they are doing, get them to pay for all costs in doing so and refund you some for the time/grief etc.
To be honest, if they want to service scoobies, they should have one they work on in house before they go working on customers.
Thats just taking the mick...

Churcha,
It's not rocket science to fit PPP
only fitting an exhaust system, upgraded fuel and replace the ECU for gods sake.
The fuel pump being the worst job ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
If they are worried about fitting PPP, what will happen if they have have to do something serious like..... the 'Bright' switch not working![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Tony
PS
I am lucky
have a choice of 3 dealers within 50 mile radius and did choose who gave the car and me the best service, but certainly wasn't the closest ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
