You can get used to the power very quickly, A nd at times you think your driving in a "ordinery" car.
Bowrrow your mums/sisters !!! micra for a week, Then jump back in and start grinningggggg.
I have a 03 wrx they are very smooth, And i feel this takes the edge from the car, My classic felt faster and i miss her.

yes it is, make at least £2000 available for modifications but make sure you sort out your suspension first, it may seem like an expensive first mod but if your car does not handle to it's potential all other mods's are silly, go for Eibach springs at least and maybe a bit more, then spend the rest on other bits and bats, all performance mods should be carried out first, forget how your car looks for now and think of this later. Once this is just right get on to the other things you wish to better, air filters, dump valves, back box, full de-cat, bigger alloys, etc........... When you have done this you should have no problem with your car, if you have buy a Viper and get 8 to the gallon but some quicker 1/4's. If you can't stretch to a Viper (or equivalent really fast car) then chip and f*ck your engine and expect a few months from it, I love my Scoob but have found myself wanting a really impractical Viper of late!!!! Your car is probably fast enough?????????????

Eibachs are only about £150 though.. and a good first mod.. also get your whels/steering lazer alined. Handling is what its all about.
I feel my car is slow now too... but go out in a Seat Inca van and bring your self back down to earth! lol

yes ive had mine a few months now and it does feel really slow now
i keep thinking its broken!
i rember the 1st time i booted it and was laffing like a mad
man
now its stick your foot down and jiggle the wheels round by slight flicks of the wrist to stop it slideing while useing the other hand to help yawn
i was just thinking last nite on the way to work "this is knackerd its so slow, im gonna get my hoop kicked at elvington" and then i saw my mate in his uk car and toasted him on the way to niteshift
i think a big reason for this is that it basicaly doesnt feel very dangerous & unsafe, a testement to the car, but it makes it far to easy to get used to the power and want more

As said above, it is all relative.
Personally i've never thought the Scooby to be that quick anyway, sure they are not slow but they put the power down well and are very capable cars.
On the other hand a 500hp+ Cossie with 2wd is another cup of tea.
I never found 1 road long enough to fully open it up and that car could scare you as it never behaved the same twice.
When you are travelling on a motorway accelerating in 4th and you hit a wet patch on an otherwise dry road and your wheels spin, that's entertaining.
Point to point the Scooby is a more capable car whereas the Cossie would quite happily park you in a field.
Mind you i'd always take the Cossie if there wasn't such thing as the 12 point rule.

Spoon you're right there, scooby's are not that fast really. When you think of the Norris Evo, which pulled a late 10's quater, or an F1 car, scooby's are pretty darn slow really.

ST Andy- I notice your flippancy but really, drive something quick then drive the Scooby and then you'll understand.
Of course an F1 car is quicker but not available on the road.
Of course there are supercars quicker but for big money.
As a fair comparison of costs etc, the Cossie seemed a good example.
It was far quicker, not just a bit.
Remember, this is coming from a Scooby owner speaking the truth not somebody who is slating Scooby's.

Spoon has a point, I have a wrx 03 bog standard. I was lucky enough to have a go in an imported sti around 300bhp (give or take).
Well F**k me with a barge pole, This made the wrx feel like a lada with engine trouble.
The standard car is good, B ut needs a we bit help (after market of course) if you want to keep up with the bib boys.
Still love my wrx 03, A cossie might kick her ***, B ut i would i would be looking good, Very good.
cheers chris

..mine feels a bit slower now as i've gotten used to it but as posted before drive a 1.6 sierra/mondeo etc and the truth soon becomes apparent .I like it when i give someone a lift and gun it to screams of jeez thats quick/f****** hell/yehaaaar/etc..and i wonder what the fuss is about a bit as it doesn't SEEM all that fast anymore ,even though ,by most ordinary transport standards,it freekin rocks (so to speak)

Hmm, in April 2003 I was driving around in a Vectra 2.2, at the time the 0 to 60 of 8.5 seconds and 150BHP was pretty good I thought...
But if you think about it, Scoobs are only fractionally faster NOW than they were in 2003 so exactly the same rules apply I suppose..
