mods ... can you leave this in here for this morning.
Car: STi8+PPP
Tyre: Bridgestone Potenza 225/45R17
Miles on tyre: 5k
I just got a puncture that probably can't be fixed.
Any advice on whether i should replace with same tyre or get different one.
If I can't get same tyre will a different one notice much ?
Any advice greatly appreciated

Are you gonna do a pair? I would.
I'm not familiar with the tyres you have but if you want a change, the Goodyear Eagle F1 is widely accepted as the best tyre around.

If it is in sidewall it shouldn't be fixed. If it is in the tread area then fixing can be OK.
I would never change one tyre but change a pair on the same axel.
I always used to put the new set on the back and put the older ones on the front. As this gives the back more grip and makes the car predictably understear on the limit not overstear. Which could catch you out big time if you are used to the car behaving in a certain way.
(This was on a classic, which understear without bumpstear mod)
FIs I feel are the best tyre for a scooby. However in your instance I would definately not mix tyres and stick with the Bridgestones.
Hope this helps Steve

Puncture could be repaired, but the tyre sidewalls were shot due to me driving (unknowingly) on it. Only 1 place had them in stock and i needed it on monday - £129 fitted.
On the handling front, i've necer had a classic so can't compare either. I think it's pretty neutral and i have pushed it pretty hard. I think it does understeer in some instances, going into tight 270 degree bends, but that could be my driving style! all in all i'm VERY happy
Thanks for all the help those who posted.
