Question

mods, i know this really belongs elsewhere, but i need a quick reply as i need this sorting first thing tomorrow - cheers

I've just discovered a small (10 mm long) nail/panel pin embedded in my new Eagle F1 GSD3 , anyway i took it out to check and after 10 mins of hissing and ending up with a deflated F1, I came to the conclusion i have a puncture.

anyway, can i get this puncture repaired as normal? below is a pic showing the location of the offending hole.

As you can see the tyre is almost brand new, so i'm gonna be pretty gutted if i cant get this repaired.
Also how much is a puncture repair nowadays

cheers in advance
chris

I had mine repaired no probs. But they will usually only do 2 repairs per tyre on Z rated tyres and above...

Unhappy

Had this two weeks ago. Cable clip through new F1. I took it to the tyre dealers that supplied and fitted the tyres. £8.50 for complete repair and balance (I removed and refitted the wheel.) I asked about "high performance" tyre repairs and was told that in this instance with it only being a 3mm nail straight through the tyre away from the sidewall it would not be an issue. looking at yours it is in the side wall, you will need to seek further advice. Not much help to you I'm afraid but it may help others.

thanks andy

this is the first (and last hopefully) puncture to this tyre. My main concern was the location of the puncture, ie being near to the inside wall. how much did it cost to get done. i havnt had a puncture in donkeys years.

Have (unfortunately) had a couple in the same sort of position. From what I understand, it is too near the side wall for repair...but then they may have just been trying to flog me a new tyre. At least it is new(ish) so you shouldn't need to replace the others (if replacing this one is the outcome). Bummer

I had the same thing recently with a Mercedes S class tyre. Every tyre fitter I saw, sucked their teeth and said "need a new tyre mate." The puncture was in an almost identical place. Eventually found someone who sent tyre away and a new piece was vulcanised in where puncture was. Cost 20quid.
I have had this done also at Kwik Fit a long time ago on a Citroen BX GTi tyre that was brand new but puncture in the centre of the tread. Vulcanised patch wore quicker than original tyre but gave me plenty of use.

Worth a shot
