I was looking at getting a plate for an MY00, but the guy who makes them for me says that its best to have an oversized one because there is a hole that they cover up.

I havent got the car yet, so i wouldnt know.

Anyone got a pic of what he means? need to know before i get my plate ordered.

Cheers

If you've seen the big plate on the back of a Chrysler 4x4 Grand Cherokee, thats the one!

Hope this is a help.

Damien.

sorry - didnt explain myself properly.

I know what the plate looks like, just wondered what this hole is, he is referring to..
i.e. does anyone have a pic of the rear of the car that shows it?

I know the gap he's on about, it's about a foot long above the licence plate. You only notice it when washing car on hands & knees.

I'll go with Mr Doo, there is a really big hole but unless you are a foot tall or less you are very unlikely to see it! Standard size plate will be just fine.

Exclamation

I bought an oversized rear plate from Fancyplates

It looks fantastic with my personalised number plate (5 digits) and all that yellow around the characters!! That said I have a legal (yet cut down to allow 11mm around the 5 digits - legal requirement!) which also looks great!

I guess the larger rear plate is compensating for the smaller one at the front!!

Thumbs down

You don't need a large plate - the standard one is just fine.

My wife has a big plate on her Jeep which needs it - the Scoob doesnt !
