Been round dealers trying to price my sti8 maltese import as px.No one seems interested in taking it off my hands against a uk model, seems strange as car came with 3 year pan european warranty, and is full uk spec..Also subaru uk has never registered the car,has anybody had this problem with a car from malta.

I have no direct experience, just interest as the owner of a European Import MY01.
There've quite a few posts on here about similar things.
You have a Maltese car, which I would take to mean as a non-EU car. Thus Subaru UK (IM) and the dealers won't touch it. They won't service it, they won't do warranty work on it. They won't take it as a p-ex. If you want to sell it, you'll need to do so privately / auction. (This is the same for Japanese imports)
Cars from the EU (e.g. Belgium, Holland) will be serviced by the dealers - they have to. As for p-exing them, some dealers will do deals, but I think most won't. I've seen a few EU cars sold for £500 - £1000 less than a UK model.
I've not seen anybody saying how they got rid of Cyprus/Maltese cars
