Flat Battery - Warrenty/Assistance
#1
Just returned fron 2 week holiday and my STi8 wouldn't start due to a flat battery.
Called assistance and they came and started.
Now the dilema.
They recomend that I charge the battery, only I don't have a charger.
Do I just buy one, which I object to very strongly or do I get them to recover it and sort it out?

I to have had a flat battery on my STi8 PPP, same story left it for a couple of days in the garage, took it out of the garage (started fine) left it on the drive, then when i wanted to start it again no joy !!, i checked the barrery votage on the SECS unit i have fitted and it was <11 volts
Its been fine ever since

Yep also had the battery go flat on my01 wrx after bieng left in the garage for 1 week , i decided to get a charger and just to leave it on trickle charge to always keep it fresh, Also have set the alarm on my secs monitor to warn if it drops below 11 volts , Still very worrying though if you are leaving your car at the airport though will it start on your return? Have decided to get a lift to the airport this year for me summer hols to save the worry whilst away.

I have a Draper trickle charger brought from Halfords and it works superb (for over a year) with the battery still on the car. I should be on commission because I know of 5 more that have been purchased due to my recommendation. Cost about £20 and goo if you leave thecar standing for a week or so at a time, obviously need power and a garage.
Continually whacking big jumps through a battery will destroy it and a battery will cost you more than £20 .
