Ive heard a few people say the box is a bit hesitant when cold. Occasionally it can be a bit clunky when pushing on but it should loosen up with a bit more "experimental" driving

 

Sorry think your being paranoid. Like the engines everything loosens up after 4-5k. I haven't heard of any clutch problems on the WRX unlike the classic. Mines only done 1600 miles and still pretty tight.

Mine has done just over 3K - and has loosened up a lot! I agree with the others, when cold, though - very stiff. Would be interesting to see how the short shift kit affects this ....

 

I have covered about 2000 miles in my MY03 WRX.

I have noticed that it is still a bit stiff getting the gears to engage. 2 or 3 times I have had an audible clunk getting it into 5th, especially when "pressing on a bit"

Has anyone else experienced this? Will it ease up after a few more miles? Or am I just being paranoid?
