Question

Hi,
Had the 'C' service at Graham Goodes last week (7 hours and £500+ quid!) - on the way back i noticed an oily/gassy kind of smell particularly when ticking over at standstill.
At first i thought it was some spilt fluid or oil burning off, but in actual fact it's a gassy kind of smell that gets in your throat..and it's getting worse to the point where i can hardly drive it coz it's making us dizzy!
Any ideas on what this is before i ring them up?

Cheers,
Dave.

Be careful mate!!!!

Drive it back to them with the windows open and get them to sort it!

Could it be the air-conditioning coolant? do the windows steam up?

Just a thought but it needs sorting before you prang it

Carlos,
Thanks for the reply....i don't suspect the Air con because as you point out, the car is not steaming up, and most of the time the air con isn't on.
I reckon it's something on the exhaust side but i'm not sure what they would have done at service to cause this to happen.

Thumbs up

Nice one Scoobyboy...They change all the oils and fluids during this service so if it is something as simple as this then i'll breath a (fresh!) sigh of relief.
Seems to be taking ages though.............

Dave,
if they've done the big service and the car smells gassy(particularly if its petrol/gasoline "gassy") make sure to check the connections/hoses/jubilee clips on the fuel filter coz my main dealer fitted a new one (naming no names) and hadnt tightened the bolts

I know of 2 people who spent a HELL of a lot of cash at GGR (well over the odds) and both jobs were done very poorly, so be careful, check anything they changed isnt leaking.
