what does it state in your service book and manual.

Mine is a My03 wrx from Belgium.

my service schedule as per the manual is 15k miles or 12 months and an oil and filter change at 7.5k miles or 12 months.

which is damn confusing as im doing less than 10k miles a year, I was going to do the oil and filter change at 6 months circa 5k miles and then the service at 12 months / 10k miles. to get the benefit of changing the oil.

My local Subaru dealer advised me to do the oil and filter change at 7,500 miles and then wait for the 15k miles to clock up for the service as long as it is within 12months of the oil change, not the last service.

confused yep thats right, just havent got round to contacting subaru benelux to get their advice as it is subaru benelux that approves the warranty work

Mine is a Euro Sti7. I stick with the 7500 mile intervals, the 10,000 was a UK only deal is what I was told.

pbee - just spoke to Subaru Belgium and they told me the schedule for Belgium EU imports is every 12,500km, or 7,500miles - so you need to be servicing the car every 7,500m to keep the warranty...

nope, how old is your car, my service book states 25,000km / 15,000 miles for a service. and states 12,500km / 7,500 miles for a oil / filter change which i suppose could be seen as a minor service.

i could scan in my book if you want.

yes- they're both classed as services - hence 7,500 mile service intervals.

Just got my MY03 WRX from Holland and the dealer told me 1000 mile service like UK have wasn't required<<not happy about that, anyone heard the same?

He also said first service was due at 12 months or approx 15000kms which is about 9500miles. Confused even more now!

Anyone shed any light on this?

Andy.

Yep - 1k service not required (but get it done anyway)

PBee has it correct - but I'm not sure his dealer's application of the rules is valid.

It's the main (15k) service every 12 months. Then you just have an oil change if you hit 7.5k within those 12 months.

High mileage (>15k pa) people get it easy (just follow the mileage rules)
Low mileage (<7.5k pa) get it easy (just get a main service and oil change together every 12 months)

IMHO:
For everyone else, just follow a 6 month schedule (Main every 12 months, oil every 6 months).

How much did the dealer charge for 1K service and which dealer did you use?

Andy.
