HI All
just got scooby today and got one small problem, The chap put a magnex system on it and took the cat off and put a decat pipe on. He has give me the old system with the cat on. Will i have to put the hole lot back on for the mot.

If you have the original center cat too then just refitting this could get you through an MOT,its lot easier to swap, if not then unless you know a sympathetic tester you will have to refit the original d/p.

as Gary says the centre cat "might" get you through the test but it is a smaller cat than the cat in the downpipe. To give you as much chance as possible get the cat nice and hot(take car for a spin for 10-15 minutes - no need to thash the car BTW) and try and get the MOT tester to do the emissions test immediately as soon as you go in (so cat doesn't cool down).

Note that this still "might" not be enough.

Being in motor trade allthough not a 'tester'id have gone for sports cat unless youve got facillities to change exhaust regular for m.o.t.. Power engineering do a sports cat which will pass m.o.t. and any road side check.ps im not from power engineering.
