Question

Sorry to post this in the general Area, but I'm hopeing for a high response rate...

My MY93 seems to produce a rumble/grinding noise, eminating from the rear of the car, but only when you back off on the accelerator and let it run on the engine.

I'm going to check the Oil in the diff this week and presume that it should use SAE90 (is this correct). Also does anybody know the fill level i.e upto the filler or just below ??????

Could this noise be generated by the rear CV joints or Wheel Bearings, as it is fine all the time that drive is being applied and only makes the noise when you lift-off.

Also it doesn't seem to make the noise for the first mile or so...as if the oil (or Grease packing) is to thin, Perhaps....

Please Help....

Question

Hmm...good timing ! I have recently noticed something very similar. Just a grating noise when I back off the throttle, coming down the gears.

Would appreciate some help here!

Pete/Firefox/Mike T, etc any comments!??
