Can any of you who have owned other previous subarus other than RA / 22b, tell me how the steering feels in comparison?
I have been looking into a quick rack recently and apparently the STi8 has a qucik rack as standard.
But I'd just like to know how many of you had noticed that compared to their other cars, before reading this?
thanks
Ed

Ed,
Having had my 8 for three months now I can honestly say that the performance of the quick rack is superior to my previous WRX UK300 PPP. It does take a little getting used to and I have now fitted 18's which improve the handling further un like on the UK300 where the standard Oz 18's tended to tram line. This doesn't happen on the 8, but the wheels I have a much lighter (Prodrive Speedline PFF-7's) than the UK300's

Steve - What are the benefits you've noticed? Quicker and sharper turn-in? More direct steering feel? more adjustable in fast bends?
Basically after Japfest I'm now hooked on trackdays, with 2 in the next 3 weeks, and everyone I know that does regular days says a quickrack is a v good investment.
While I was happy with my car at Japfest, it did feel a little like driving a bus in the fast bends!

Ed,
I think you've summed it up quite well there.
far more responsive and direct. Better feel and certainly better turn into corners.
Just go and test drive an Sti8 at your local dealer

Hi mate - yeah I did consider that, but I was so bloody impressed with the 02 Eibachs at Japfest I've kind of put them on hold for the time being, at least until after my engine has been done.
TBH there is no way I would spend the 1500-2000 on an aftermarket quickrack, but the Sti8 one sounds like an affordable alternative.
