went up to scotland for the weekend and thankgod for my bel radar detector gave plenty of warning for me to brake down and everytime i heard the detector say K band you could bet on it with in 300 yards there was a speed trap sitting there waiting for some unlucky person, in england if the detector goes of on a motorway i tend to ignore it but in scotland braked everytime time and i was right to do so

Was that on the A68 by any chance ?
stupid ******* cameras are sited on the straights where you try to overtake, just bloody revenue generators plain & simple.
please someone start burning them

This is something I've noticed on the A9 between Perth and Inverness, the cameras are all situated in the middle of the (few) straights thereby encouraging those who know the road to overtake on the corners. Of course they also catch those who don't know as they perform safe and sensible overtaking with reasonable use of speed.
I sat in a layby and watched one poor bloke getting the "double flash of revenue generation" just as he pulled in front of a truck. The poor bloke wasn't even travelling at much over 60mph by my judgement.
I can't help but feel that the government are slowly making a big stick to beat themselves with. Within the general population, that's you and me, respect for the rule of law has all but vanished. We all know that real criminals can do what they like while some poor bloke performing a perfectly safe overtaking manouver on his way from Inverness gets treated like an axe murderer for it. There are few on here who would trust the police to sit the right way around on a toilet, never mind give truthful evidence, judges and courts are nothing but a joke and yet we still pay for it all.
I can't help but think that these actions are slowly driving the ordinary man in the street, that's you and me again, more to the political right in a desire to get some law and order and less victimisation of vulnerable innocents.
Is this a rant? Yes indeed. Does this issue annoy almost everyone?
