How much trouble is normal?

My my96 uk turbo has done 66k miles.
In the last 10 months ithas visited the garage several times and 2 grand has been spent on:
60k mile + cambelt service
front discs
clutch
coil plug
power steering pump
It now has serious oil leak from front of engine under cambelt cover and will need new front shocks soon. What else should I expect to go wrong?
Love the car but its so expensive to run. At what point should I just admit defeat and give up?
all thoughts appreciated

youve already went past it mate, you admit you spent 2k on a 96 car, your at a stage now where if something else goes wrong youll spend it again because of how much you have already spent. this has nothing to do with imprezas this is the 2nd hand car market in general

When your money runs out.
Mine has, so I now have a cheap as chips Eunos roadster.
Sold my scooby a few months ago. They are money pits.
They are my favourite car. So will own another, love it, get pissed of with the running costs, sell it, miss it, buy another one and repeat the process all over again.
Best wishes

Hopefully you will catch up with it soon and it will behave itself.
That oil leak sounds like the crank oil seal leaking. Most reputable garages will replace that or at least suggest doing so during the cam belt change. I would ask them about that-if they did replace it then they need to do it again but properly.
