Yep.
Air con is fitted at the dealer even when you spec it on a new car (as mine was). Edited to say that IM use specialist to do the work. Mine was done by Coolair but I don't know if they cover the whole country.
Cheers

Hi
A friend of mine is about to pay £8,999 for a MY2000, this car is an ex-company car with 97,000 miles and full Subaru history.
The advert in the trader stated the car had air-conditioning yet the guy selling has now told him (sheepishly) that it doesn't.
What's the score with this? I drive an MY95 and don't have to worry about such luxuries but what models have air-conditioning and what models don't??
Cheers
Hanley
By the way its a standard Turbo 2000

If it helps i bought my sport scoob Treg 3 years ago No aircon Had to pay an extra £800 for the luxury. My current MY00 classic also came with no aircon, so unless its just the STI's and or later models that have it then your mate will not be geting it. Expect to pay around the £700-800 mark for it and single plastic button on dash NICE

When I bought my MY99 last year I only looked for ones with A/C (it was an option on the 'classic'shape )..once you've had A/C it's hard to go back . I also thought it may make it easier to sell in the future .

They (Coolair via main dealer) did mine in a day the other week, cost five quid short of a grand and you get a wee plastic illuminated button on your dash and a Coolair sticker in your engine bay, oh and lots of aircon gubbins under the bonnet.
One question for all A/C owners, is it normal for loads of condensed water to pi55 out of your engine bay once you've stopped?

There were 2 cars for sale in the area
1 was a MY99 T plate, 22,000 miles - no history
1 was a MY00 V plate, 97,000 miles, fleet car for a high street bank with full Subaru history
Could be a big risk buying the car with no history, just ask why is there no history - hasn't it been serviced??
Turns out it was a damge / repair, I personally would go for the higher mileage with dealer history.
Not sure what other people would do, maybe I'm wrong!!
I bought my own MY95 with 140,000 miles on the clock, again this was a fleet car belonging to a high street bank and had full Subaru history. Apart from an oil leak problem (dealt with brilliantly by Mainland, Widnes) I have had 2 years trouble free fun and am now upto 170,000 miles and going strong
Anyway, my mate picked up his MY00 about 2 hours ago and is grinning like a cheshire cat!!!!
