I'd kind of subscribe to that theory judging by the types i've seen behind the wheel of an Impreza, that's why i've got no badges on mine so it get's mistaken for a Daewoo estate which distances me.

Yep,that about sums it up,dont play computer games though,and have my own house,but to make up for it I used to fly model planes and take rubbings of train name plates

Admittedly it was a 'contributor' rather than an actual staff writer and he did go on to slag off his dad for being a 'Ferrari bore' but it does make you wonder what most people think of us.

Erm... hands up, I'm afraid (although I have my own home, the rest is fair enough). Consider this:

pretty much covers me :P
recently had the choice,
A) spend the money i had saved up on a deposit on a place for me and my girlfriend, buy a g reg fiesta.
B) spend the money i had saved up on a scooby, live at home with my dad paying peanuts, get drunk all the damn time, leaving plenty of cash left to spend on my car.
Congratulations B you won by a long shot :P

Drive real cars for fun and for a living, seems ok to me. I even sold my Scooby and still love cars!! Perhaps this accuser is actually a car hating vegetarian that only looks at the magazine to find out who to complain to but never actually buys it and has an especially low level of automotive knowledge.
Guilty - I also have a traction engine (road going steam thing that is like a steam roller - BUT ISN'T ONE!)
