while i was at work the other day, the missus took the wrx in for it's first service (1000 miles done, now time for heavy feet i think), she forgot to book a courtesy car (durr) so the subaru monkey (sorry - workshop technician) gave her a lift home and while he pootled along at 30 mph for the 4 or 5 miles or so he told her about a topless P1 (slef converted) that he's has the pleasure of seeing - now naturally i told her he was a natural born bullsh1tter (i'm new to this impreza ownership game but i just can't see that happening)

now i can;t give him too much stick as i'm trying to convince her to PPP the thing and he actually backed me up on the idea.....but convertible P1? is he mad or something?

look forward to him getting a slagging off from you experts

andy.

Thumbs up

Nah, there's a few of 'em about. When Subaru UK were having trouble shifting the last few P1's, they got sold to a specialist coachbuilder at a bit of a knockdown price.

A local builder's got one that they converted into a pick-up

Stu

You talking about that streched six wheel one that came up for the first day of the Lakes Camping Trip?

I've heard of some that have even been converted to four wheel drive (think they used a land rover chassis).

Unfortunately though, according to the chap with the pick-up, they don't shift quite as well as a standard P1 cos' they had to put in a couple of RSJ's to counteract the chassis flex

I'll phone him over the weekend and see if I can get some pictures
