I am told that the P1 has many changes made to the basic Impreza, including changes to the 4WD system itself. So I'm thinking that maybe this car is truly unique and not simply copyed by converting a regular impreza. Therefore I am thinking of bringing one to the US. The only question is what would I have to do to convert it in a completely seemless way to left hand drive? Would buying a junked or used Impreza and doing a complete interior and steering transplant do the trick? Thanks.

 

P1's are unique and I would keep them all that way. attemting to change to LHD would ruin it.

would RHD not be a novelty in the U.S.?

I already check into trying to get a P1/EVO and Sti V in under the radar, no go. Every east-coast lic. importer said that it was impossible. The only way to get it in is with diplomatic connections, and those have to be reissued every year. I knew I should have taken that post in Kenya!
