** That sould say should - God I'm thick!

I'm having trouble deciding what to do and could do with some advice...

I Currently have a DBM UK MY00+PPP with 27,000 miles on the clock. I fancy a change, but I'm not sure what to go for. Do I:

a) go for an STi03 in Black Mica with a PPP
b) go for a WRX03 in Black Mica with a PPP
c) stick with my current car and take advantage of the fact that it isn't going to depreciate that much over the next three years.

Also, in view of the fact Top Gear gave the car such a glowing report, how much will I have to pay for a) and b)?

I'm particularly interested in comments from people who have owned MY00+PPP and upgraded to an STi. Is it worth it the extra 15k spent on top of the trade-in value?

Thanks,

Wuss.

Wuss, I toyed with this idea (also owning a DBM MY00 with PPP) and decided that the £15k spent on the MY00 would be a much better idea

ScoobyK,

I hadn't thought of that option!! What's your car running now in terms of power and torque? What mods have you done?

Is an STi03+PPP really worth 15k more than an MY00+PPP? I know it's a better car overall, but 15k is a lot of dough...

Cool

I am in exactly the same dilemma (MY99 PPP) but I'm going to wait till next year when we should get the jap STI goodies like twin scroll turbo and selectable differential. IMHO the current new cars don't justify 15 grand extra but may do with those goodies.

Question

Test drove an STi [without PPP] and to be honest found it slower than my MY99 + tek3 - in a straight line at least. Pay 15k or so for the privelege? Don't think so!

So, looks like its probably going to be an MY03 + PPP then or maybe something outside the fold....

Wuss, YHM.

Unknown figures at the mo, but estimate around 280ish - was 249 last time I went, and have played a little since then

Have not done much major work engine wise, preferring to sort suspension / brakes first !

Wink

Thanks Guys,

I think I will hold off for the moment as well. When I test drove an STi (without a PPP) I did not think the car was any quicker. It had better suspension and brakes, but the cars were very similar in terms of pace. I'm sure the STi+PPP is quicker, but it's that price tag again.

I think I'll plan for some more upgrades as well...

I've accepted my loss due to falling prices in the last three years, you can't escape standard economics...
