Just got my Evo back from the bodyshop last week after a rear bumper respray. The work looked good and I drove away a happy man..

On Sunday, I decided to wash and wax the car, and on closer inspection I relised that the majority of the car is now covered in a fine mist of metallic paint! I just can't believe it, they must have painted it without even bothering to cover the rest of the car!

So what do I do!? Should I ask them to polish all the paint residue off with an elecrtic buffer and cutting polish or what!? Is there anything else I can do to get my car back to how it was before. I wax it regularly and the body was always as smooth as silk until this.

What the hell should I do!?

Any ideas,

Thanks - Martin.

as with anything like this dont get mad at them and start yelling

explain to them nicley about your concerns and how sad its mad you, it can often have a very good response.

But what should I ask them to do? They've messed up so far, should I trust them to polish it out? They might just remove all the lacquer and make it worse.

That's the dilemma - assuming they admit resonsibility.

Any more ideas guys?

well if they decide to 'fix' it then they are admitting they're wrong so even if they do ***** it up, they'll still be liable to ensure that you have the car returned to you in the condition it was delivered to them.

Start requesting nicely (go on about it being your pride and joy, they should be sympathetic). If they are messing you about then take further action (i.e. speak to your solicitor, or us).

give them the option to fix it, if they try and its no better take it to a dealer of your choice and get them to invoice the cowboys.

if your not 100% happy then something is wrong, its your car dont settle for a second rate job.
