Changing the Power Split on AT Legacy
#1
Hey dudes -
I have a '97 legacy outback limated with an AT. I was kinda upset when I learned that the power split is 90/10 in favor of the front. This means a lot of rotational weight for what is basicly a front wheel drive car, which is less fun to drive.
I was wondering, is there any way to change the split to make it closer to 50/50. I know that the AWD system is computer controlled, could it be done in the ECU?
Does anyone with a manual (which has a 50/50 viscous) know if it dives less on turns and it is more fun to drive, or is it not really worth it?
Thanks - Steve
