My cheeky mate...
#1
Hi folks...
Put a post on a earlier this week about purchasing a scooby, etc. Was chatting to my mate, who thinks he knows it all about every-bloody-thing, and I said I was going to look at a couple of Scoobies at the weekend, (an S reg and an R reg WRX STI), because I have always wanted one.
Anyway he said "no you dont want one of those!!, the interior quality is crap, always falling to bits, Subaru have a philosophy of why use 4 screws, when 1 will do", and all this crap.
I have driven my mates L reg WRX quite a bit, with no probs, is this the case, or is he spouting from his back passage??
Cheers folks

to be fair the interior isn't exactly inspiring in that it's all plastic etc but that's just rice rockets for ya so yeah ditto generally he is talkin poopy, it uses healthy amount of screws as far as i no even if u will get inevitable rattles with elder cars (especially when combined with big subs)

The interiors are a bit cheap and crappy, but they don't fall apart, they just have character. Mind you I have an early one, so later ones are bound to be better.
I think the rest of the car makes up for the interior anyway, except maybe the ultra-thin (weight saving ) paint

yeah the interior is a bit cheap and plasticy but it doesn't feel particularly off poor build quality for what it is. IMHO its the sort of interior you'd expect on a car like that (i.e. a performance car) Look at stuff like some of the Ferraris, they have very spartan interiors for the same reason. I've certainly been in cars alot newer than my 98 car that have interiors that wouldn't stand up to a strong sneeze and that I've gone "ugh" at. Whereas I've no real complaints about the scoobs.

All this cr@p about the interior....who actually cares?
The seats are very supportive, and IMHO, comfortable, and the things go like stink. What more do you want?
Yes, I've put gauges in mine, but that's 'cos I'm modding it, and I've also uprated the ICE as I got a good deal........:
