Forgot to say, if warranty not an issue I expect most will say go for ECUTEK from someone like Scoobysport as it can be re-mapped as and when you add further mods. It's also cheaper
Yes but ECUTEK is not detectable by the dealer as it uses the existing ECU so dont worry about the warranty.Go for EcuTEK as its much more flexible and cheaper than the PPP.
As more people go down the ECUTEK route rather the PPP, is it not just a matter of time before IM issue dealers with the facilities to check ECU maps at service time?
u can dial in as much or as little boost (plus when it kicks in and for how long) as you like when u get the mapper to reflash your ecu via Ecutek. With the PPP your stuck with whatever it comes with.
In a nutshell if u Ecutek your motor you'll get more power than the PPP kit, and at the end of the day thats wot its all about!
You should be able to have a remap with the existing PPP backbox and centre section (do you also get a sports downpipe with the PPP on an STI8?) but you would obviously get better results with a full decat. The Good thing about the ECUTEK is that if you decide to change the exhaust later on you can remap the ECU accordingly.
That said, I'm certainly no expert, why not have a chat with Pete Croney at Scoobysport or one of the other specialists?
