Now i know that there have been loads of threads on this but this weekend i am off to Halfords to get some of that C2 stuff(or whatever its called) and then will do the following:
Cover intercooler fins with sized piece of cardboard
Cover K&N filer in plastic bag
Cover alarm housing in plastic bag
Cover Alternator in cling film
Spray on engine cleaner stuff.Wait 10 mins
Get me trusty Karcher pressure washer and give it a good soaking
Mop up excess water on battery etc
Stand back and admire.
NOW have i missed anything blindling obvious or done anything wrong.
Your expert advice greatly appreciated

Cleaning an engine is very much like making love to a beautiful woman:

You lift up the cover (bonnet), place a rubber sheath over vital systems (electics), pump in and out off all the nooks and crannies with your brush and then spray her with your magic juice (engine cleaner) Now, stand back to admire your work

I cleaned my engine exactly like you detailed a while ago using some of that gunk. Seemed to work quite well this stuff attacks tarmac though so wash it off double quick or do it on the road........I didn't bother covering my alternator though, some people say to keep your engine running while you do it but mine was ok.

Swisstony,i did this to my car not to long ago.
Warm engine up for about 5-10mins then swich off.
Apply sray over entire engine bay,i did this a couple of times as the first time i missde a few areas.Wash car after closing bonnet but not properly, then after about 15mins open bonnet and let it have it with the washer.Once finished spray on detailer and close bonnet and start engine.I think thats all the info, but there are lots of threads reguarding this on here.
