I have a MY96 UK Turbo with the old Scooby Sports (H&S) back box.
I think it is a perfect balance(for me), nice burble in traffic but you can hardly hear it inside so great for Mums and motorways, but if you do want to hear it then down comes the window.
Cheers.
Ian.

Thinking of getting a Scooby Sport back box for a wrx 96. Just curious how loud it will be, dont mind it being a little bit....erm throatier than standard, but dont want it to be a pain in the 4ss on motorway journeys etc. Any other ecommendations??

I've just fitted a Ninja backbox from Scoobyworld, rest of exhaust is std on my MY99 UK Turbo and it sounds lovelly, its threr but its not intrusive, and u dont need to take 2 asprin once u finish a motorway journey which is handy

Even though people say the Firestorm is loud, i wouldn't say it was as bad as is made out.
I fitted mine lastweek, it is loud compared to a Magnex, but when compared to some HKS or Blitz...it's kinda normal.
In saying that, i've still got both cats and standard centre on mine.

I've got a full Scooby Sport on My STI RA, it is hard work on the motorways especially with the RA short gearing 17mph/1000rpm in 5th!!
I've also got a noise meter, at 4500 it reads about 99db's at 7000 it reads 105db's!!

I have a Scoobysport back box on my WRX MY01 and is´nt any loud. In fact you must open de window for hear it. Changes sound note (more deep) but not increases sound substantial inside car. That´s just was expecting because in long travels excess of noise becomes a torture. If you want something more "hard" maybe this is not your better choice

TSL Grp N back box on my97 STi3 - sounds louder than standard - naturally, but deeper, very nice indeed and very easy to live with. My experience in customer service from various 'scooby suppliers' indicates TSL are the top dudes.
best bet would be to go to a local meet and listen to a few - I'm sure all the owners out there would be happy to demonstrate the scooby song in a spot of carpark kareoke.....

I run a FULL scoobysport system on an sti V5, and am thinkin bout swapping the backbox cos i'd like it a bit meatier sounding (if that is possible as the Scoobysport one sounds lovely when @ high rpms but is a bit quiet on tick over).
Seem to me that the jap stuff is gonna be the loudest....>
