What options are there for a new meatier sounding exhaust without invalidating my warranty? Is it just the PPP package??

 

There is the WR sport back box avaible for your STI 7 as well as the PPP exhaust (think it might be the same just stamped with something different, sure someone else on here will correct me in this one)
Depends on your dealer re warranty as some are OK on exhaust swaps, mine was decat centre and magnex back box. Dealer was fine with it.
Might be worth doing a few descrete enquires to the dealer re warranty on back box or ask on here if anyone knows what your local dealer is like re warranty on back box

The WR Sport backbox for the MY02> STI is exactly the same as the PPP backbox except it has an oval tailpipe.

Certainly louder than the standard boxbox although not intrusive. It's also less restrictive and helps improve the boost pickup at low rpm.

Most dealerships will allow the backbox being changed (blind eye and all that) but usually anymore and the warranty is over.

So go out and start getting people's opinions

 

subaru dealer told me they would 'be sensible' when it came to any warranty claims in light of the full scoobysport system on my car - ie they pretend they hadn't noticed it.
