Is NOTHING ever going to go wrong with my Scoob?

It’s been a happy 4 yrs+ with an STi V – especially as I bought it to turn my back on a (charismatic!) TVR after a £2k service bill!
Central door locking unit wasplaying up recently, so I got a new one in… Went to fit it and found the connector hanging off the old unit – pushed it back on and my first ever fault disappears! Hardly a fault that, more a product of hard cornering
Am I lucky or are ALL these cars remarkably reliable – 4+ years without a SINGLE glitch is absolutely unheard of in my book.

You're gonna regret posting that...
It's bound to breakdown tonight after saying that !
Have to admit, mine has been trouble free since i bought it too (apart from overboost) but it's not cost me anything.
Long may it continue !

Knock on wood No mod's then I presume? Vice guy.
More people should sound their positive experiences, hence the tendency to read only about the big and small bangs. Thanks for sharing your positive experience with us

O God! It might just be me then! It has mods (sensible ones!) like de-cat and ECU re-program and a squirt of snake oil at every petrol fillup About 300bhp I reckon too!
And yes I do have a tendency of 'getting along' with the law - chucked it sideways, copper heard the squeals & stopped me - later sent me on my way after checking the car wasnt nicked
I'm mostly going to be staying in from now on, and rarely using the car

you must have the good twin of our old car then - we had a few problems and it was brand new at the time!

We did 112,000 miles in a 1.6 GL (funnily enough no mods!) and only had one £1.70 sensor fail - original discs, clutch, everthing except rubber, pads and timing belts (routine x 2)
