www.demon-tweeks.co.uk(cant do clicky)they have got other oil there as well,just gave them a ring and had a chat about the different types and that is the one Motul recommend for Subaru.Took my STI7 in for a service bought my own oil,dealer said Motul is a really good oil,better than the Shell they put in.If anything the engine now sounds quieter and a lot more smoother,Pressure and temp are fine to,good engines so why not put a really good oil in,Motul,Mobil1,castrol RS.

Motul 300V Power,5/40,fully synthentic,expensive but good.

 

nellie thanks were do u get it from i have never heard of it? also is 5-40 ok? i thought it was ideally 5-50 that was to be used?

 

I like also Motul V300, I used it in my previous modified Impreza MY00 (15W/50 Competition) and now I use the Chrono 10W/40 for my new WRX03.
As I have seen the 5W/40 has less certifications than the 10W/40, but what concerns me is that after first oil change to Motul the tappets are more noisy than previous for the first few minutes on warm up, I agree you can't have all the benefits (best cold startup and maximum protection on high engine temps), do you feel the same with your cars and Motul?

nellie about to place me order but do you use the motorsport or performance version? i doubt there is much difference really, and how many litres do i need 4 enough or get 6?.

If i was you get 6,then you have got top up,subaru engines take 4.5ltrs,i had a 2ltr tin back with about half a ltr or so used.
