Giving it stick out of tight bends and the like I find the Scooby to be amazing. But on the motorway I find that most cars are just as quick as me or quicker.
Not sure if it's gearing or poor top end performance, but it is very embarrassing being roasted by mondeo's and the like when the traffic slows to about 60 then picks up again. Even when going up and down the gearbox.

It would take something pretty special to roast a 300bhp scooby!! You'll be fine!! I've got a 275bhp classic and nothing on the road has bothered me in the last year with the exception of fellow SN's A totally bog standard MY01-02 may have problems with hot-hatches and V6 rep mobiles but modded cars tend to raise the stakes a little. A lightly modded clio 172 cup really challenged my car until about 90mph when the extra power made itself known.

Scoobys do give their best performance between 0-100/120mph and the reason they struggle a bit more at the top is the heavy trasmission losses throgh the 4wd and the rather un-slippery nose shape!

when i owned my evo 5 it was slower to 60mph than my 300bhp wrx i own now.but when you get to 100mph in the evo it kept pulling really hard all the way past 160mph easily with little effort. but the wrx gives up pulling at around 100mph and then takes ages to hit 150mph.(on test tracks i may point out, officer)

mine hits the limiter in 5th which apaenrtly works out at 158mph when u work the speed out via the gear ratios etc etc

the speedo said 162

i wouldnt say it was scarey, although it does make u think about "stuff"

back 2 the original post

i find while following around and about with my mates in there uk cars, there are times, like coming off roundabouts etc etc when it seams like im not catching them but this is down to the gear boxes and stuff, ultimatly i go flying past, but its all down to gear boxes ratios etc etc

300bhp will probably be a import?
close ratio box etc etc

u shouldnt have any problems

I used to have a stage 3 Cossie, the pull at over 100mph was brilliant, although i got embarrased by a few scoobs too.

If i can get mine to pull like that did, i'll be a happy man !

maybe i'm different, but my TypeR pulls with force all the way to the limiter in 5th gear. It never seems to 'drop off'

My WRX with ppp can manage 150mph no problem what so ever, think everyone has had a high speed race on the motorway at least once in there life. I would say once a scooby reaches 120mph the accelarting slows down noticiably, A T5 could push most scoobies out the way at 120mph including a fair few other cars. But doing excess of 100mph on a motorway in a straight line is totally boaring and also damn right dangourous. I bought the scoob to have fun and thats exactly what it gives me when I drive through bendy country lanes, there's very little that can touch or even keep up with me and I'm not the best of drivers.

The car is one hell of a peice of remarkable engineering and still scares the s*it out of me but kind of gives me massage therapy at the same time with its reassuring grip.

Drive it through country lanes or your missing out
