Advice on new scooby wanted
#1
Hi all,
On the brink of getting back into Scooby ownership having spent way too long in the dark since I sold my WRX.
Im also set to move to a less expensive insurance area so Im fancying something tasty (also just turning 25 which cant be a bad thing!).
The shortlist is:
MY99 UK
RB5
MY01 WRX
Or do I just say sod it and get a V4/V5 Type R or a MY01 WRX STi?
Theres about £350 difference insurance between a standard WRX and the STi, so Im wondering if theres much of a difference in driving? Whats the difference in engines (I appreciate its got a 6 Speed) What other kit does the STi have?
Another dilemma is do I plump for a Type R (about £320 more than a newer WRX)?
What sort of MPG can I expect from the above cars?
Im used to an MY93 with a unichip which was putting out 280 BHP so naturally I dont want anything much slower so my final question is will I be a bit dissapointed by any of these?
Many Thanks for any advice

From: From : somewhere between here & there - also at wyioc.co.uk - are you?
Get a type-R!
Ive had mine since December and love it!
Just remember to be careful with the fueling if you do get one as there are a few stories regarding them not liking UK fuel.
Mines always been fine on Optimax and OB!
Fast as hell!! Scare the sh*t out of most if you put your foot down!
