hello
A friend has mis-spaced number plate. Got a letter through the post out of the blue from the local cop-shop asking him to change it. No fine, just a warning in this instance. I also have a letter then 6000BY and have had it for 3 months without being pulled yet, but I do expect it sometime

He didn't get a follow up. Think it must have been local police spotted him around and just issued the letter. He did change it to correct spacing for a while but then changed it back again.
It does make you a little paranoid for a while though, couldn't believe how many police I saw when I first put my plate on ... not so paranoid now

S200BEY would be my choice out of the two.
Please tell me youve seen it on the DVLA website rather than the rip-off prices advertised in places like the back of "Lax Power"
On the spacing issue, i dont know and havent heard of anyone having their plate taken away for mis-spacing. I did once get waved in by a copper and the way he was waving and looking at me, you'd have thought id just ran someone over. Talk about a mean look. Anyway, he just told me it would be logged on computer and if i didnt change it, next time i was pulled would be more serious than a warning.
Im still not sure how true this is, maybe he was trying scare tactics. Generally though, i think as long as u dont go stupid with italics and backgrounds with logos the police are pretty easy going, at least round here.
Anyone else got any stories?

Been pulled twice for mine,
1st time fined, (after I had a "you're waisting my time.. go and find some real criminals" conversation with them)
2nd time tried a different tactic, appologised about my ignorance and got just a verbal warning.
Motorway police seem to be hotter than most, gone past many a parked up panda without a second glance, never made it past one on the motorway.
