Post

tonight me and a friend of mine decided to test each others cars by racing to 70mph from a standing start on a motorway slip road..

he has the same car as me (2001 WRX) and i was way in front of him and i dont think its all down to the driver..

what i wanted to know is ... are there any scooby "experts" (loosly termed) in the Leeds/ West yorkshire area who would be willing to have a look under my bonnet and tell me if any mods apart from the obvious magnex & VTA dump valve that have been fitted (prior to me owning it)as both cars are s'posed to be factory UK issues .i've only had the car a week and dont really know much about these engines ????

any help appreciated

Talking

Swap cars (if you dare),repeat the run. That will get rid of any driver influence.

Why don't you just take it to your nearest Subaru garage and speak to a mechanic?

well.... heres an update:

I've tried to get some more info on my car and found that is has had a superchip fitted with bleed valve, was also told be another scoobyet member that although this will increase the power i should get a boost gauge fitted for safety. as said before i dont know enough about this car to start messing about under the bonnet, could this also be the cause of not very smooth boost ,as suggested by someone else ??
