3.i have an aftermarket exhaust ,that has a sharp edge how can i fix this ,some one said i should use metal filler around the edge, how do i do this what other methods can i use

Tripple R, you have your work cut out mate.
1. Speedo calibration, what method are using here.
I had the type of converter that is "plumbed" into the centre
of the speedo cable. The dial just registers mph instead of kmh.
Your odometer then records im miles.
There is no need to calibrate anything. No dial change.
Paint out the "k" in km/h to leave m/h.
2 Contact any insurance company you want.Liverpool Victoria seem
to be the cheapest for over 30's who have imports.
No alarm or tracker needed. You can get insurance using the
chassis number.
3 Yes to be on the safe side you need to round the exhaust edges.
I have heard people using some stuff that eventually just
breaks off, dont know what its called. But it will fail you.
4 No idea mate.
5 Your de-registration documents.
6 The main cat is in the down pipe, swap out the centre section
for a UK one. Top up the tank fully using SUL, add an octane
booster prior to topping up. Get it hot just before you get
there.
7 Yes but your not going to have time.
Tyres : check the speed and load rating marking on them are
applicable to the ax speed of the car, that you put on
the form.
Rear fog light, do you have one ??
steering wheel, no sharp objects like small bolts sticking out.
No guages, turbo timers etc fitted. take them off and tuck away
cabling behind dash.
They check for leakages of systems, ie brake pipes, ABS, PAS.
Check operation of lights.
Cheers
Glenn

Don't forget rear fog light!
As for the emissions make sure hte car has warmed up properly before they check, it's usually a good idea to give the cat 20 min to warm up (if you have one!)
Good Luck
Mike
Edited to say Foot tapper beat me to it

Speedo has to be properly converted.
Converter will cost you £65 or so. Best place to get it from is Eurospec2000 who are based near you.
Use black or white insulating tape (depending on your gauge colour) to blank out the K in KM/H The K cannot be illuminated.
The car will be put on 4 wheel rollers and driven at certain speeds, it is ok if at 30 miles an hour you are showing 33, but bad if you are showing 27
Tyres have to have the correct load index and speed rating. The SVA station will weigh the car at the front and rear axle, the tyres have to cover the distributed weight at each axle.
Fog light has to be mounted square to the rear line of the car on the off side. cabling has to be secure and hidden nicely in the wiring loom.
Fuel neck restrictor must be fitted.
Take out the rear cross bar thingy and hope that there are no holes in trim etc. All turbo timers have to be disconnected and wiring hidden. Put some metal filler around the edge of the exhaust so that it has a rounded edge and not a sharp one.
Apart from that lot there isn't really a lot else to worry about, good luck.

As for insurance, Liverpool Victoria will not cover you to drive a car on a chassis number (they say it's illegal!!) The last car I sva'd (May this year) was insured with A-Plan, insurance was cancelled after it passed sva and registered, then moved to LV.

Chocky mate, I insured my car on chassis alone via LV.
The first person I spoke to said they dont do it, I called back a couple of days later, the person I spoke to then, went and checked.
And result, they do.

thanks for the advice all.
i have fitted the fog light
fuel neck restrictor
i have converted the speedo but re-calibrated the milage ,so i looks like it has done 90,000 miles ,instead of 50,000 .,seeing as they dont record this it does not matter.
i will remove the turbo timer
i have a few more questions
1.how do i know the speed rating of my tires ,and what should it be
2.someone said i cant have gauges ,mine are fitted netley and safley above my stereo inside the dash ,is this still a problem
3.would a water addative fix my radiastor leak

for speed ratings have a look here

gauges inside your dash maybe ok, i havent heard anything on this.
i think there is a product called radweld, but i've never used it.
