Check out my name. Moving up to Scooby soon, just sorting the money. I come on here for research, but it's also a fun & friendly place.

Hoping to go brand new WRX. Was gonna import but the exchange rates have shot that to ****. Can't decide if I need the sunroof & leather, but most on here would say waste of money and spend it on perf mods. PPP is a must, another reason imports are compromised.

I've considered 2nd hand, there are many bargains come up in the forsale section here, and you just know they've been cared for (and driven hard, lol) and sometimes they don't budge too well. Ripe for a low offer from a vulture like me. I just promised myself a couple of things in my new car. 1-Brand New (but could be swayed by the right deal on a MY03 or newer) and 2-Leather (just an extravagance).

It's the "lots of mods" bit that puts me off 2nd hand. 1st there's the personal point of view, one mans mod is another mans donkey. 2nd I'd like a warranty. 3rd there's the insurance minefield (I know about L&V, but if they go or change policy it could prove expensive). 4th any mods must compromise reliability.
I agree the bugeye was a fookup, but that's made for a few hard to shift cars out there. I smell a bargain. But then again, prob not when it comes time to shift it on.
As much as I like the classics, I've driven an old car for too long. I've got to have something from this century and I love the new shape. Even if the grille should be the other way up.
