Unhappy

It was going to happen - whilst I was thumbing through a copy in Safeways (I was waiting for a create-your-own pizza....different story!), they're comparing the RX8 to a Scoob and I think it was a 350Z.....

Usual pros, but a new comment came up in the cons

Something along the lines "depreciating image"

Of course, this means that we should sell (if we can) our cars, or just scrap them and Scoobynet should be closed through lack of interest!!!

It was just a shame to see it in a publication, even if it is Autocar......

Won't stop me from having a new Scoob in 2005 though!!!

Question

You're slagging off a magazine for telling the truth?

Don't recall slagging it off.....

Just saying that's it's a shame that Autocar (after good reviews, even if it is Autocar) are slagging it off.......

There's me thinking that a Subaru-enthusiast's forum would defend it's marque....

silly me

I dont think its a depreciating image more along the lines of the competition catching up.
I thing competition is healthy in any market. Without it the manufacturer goes to sleep, doesnt progress and we all loose. With the likes of Ford, Alfa, Mazda etc etc upping the ante with their new offerings Subaru have to do the same and make something better for the future. How can that be a bad thing?

Well said Gary

My whinge is that there's more than enough negativity surrounding the Scoob (thefts etc) without having press (even if it is tabloid-equivalent) running it down further.

Image-wise, the car is still desirable. Many of the comments I hear (hopefully not about me!!) are regarding the drivers and the manner in which they conduct themselves on the road....

Are they recycling old material (Autocar, surely not )? I'm fairly sure I've got that edition at home from several months back. Maybe it was an Sti7...

Autocar is the motoring press equivalent of The Sun. Thats why I DONT buy it. Gutter press. The number of times they contradict themselves is unbelieveable and that section in the road tests titled "testers notes" what a load of cr@p who's bl00dy bothered about what the tester thinks especially when its something completely and utterly trivial like "fuel filler cap is a nasty grey plastic colour, makes me cringe everytime I go to fill up"
