LOL@Rich

I never knew they had 32mm restrictors on r/c cars

Now everyone stop giving Simon grief, he runs this site for OUR benefit and if he gets a prize for us for nothing then except it (dunno what it is, but if you put 2 and 2 together you could end up with 4 ie, like rallying, we are owners of subaru's, Prodrive is in rallying with Subaru.... so its either a day out in the works car or a day around Prodrive well thats my guess )

Keep up the good work Simon
Congrats Rich

Tony

Cool

I am not too fussed at not winning it because I know that Rich is so into rallying it's untrue! I will grudgingly say that he is a very deserving winner.

Edited to say that he is still an ugly bar steward.

The prize was for rally fans who were also SN+ members. Not every SN+ member is a rally fan and so the prize would'nt have meant very much to them.

So which is better? To ask SN+ members if they want in and if they will really appreciate the prize, or to increase the odds and maybe give the prize to someone who won't appreciate as much.

So how was Simon to do this? Sure he could've sent an email to people asking for a reply, but then someone was bound to say it was all done in secret and it would have gotten out anyway, but with the added complication of accusations of secret ballots/fixes etc. Much better to do the request in public and out in the open.

Why would Simon want to invent a prize draw and not deliver on his promises? The people who won would then have cried foul and Simon's integrity would be shot to hell. If it was to get hit count and interest then there's better ways to do it than this.

Why can't people accept that there was and is a very good reason for doing it and feel happy for those that won.

Great idea Simon! Dont be put off this sort of thing by a small minority (you always get a few! ) so the majority suffer.
Hey I wouldn't care whatever it is, its free and it went to the right person, so why winge? especially if your not a Plus Member

By the way I must get off my backside and become a plus member....Also just between me and you ,if you send me the S202 or the c-spec in the next raffle I promise not to mention it!

Mart

Don't put me or the people involved off doing something like this again. Please just be happy for the people that have won.

Otherwise, imagine none of this had happened.

Webmaster,

Will he ever be able to tell what the price is/was, or is it a permanent secret?

webmaster,

it wasnt intended to be a dig....

just trying to work out... why the whispers

if sworn to secrecy... why say anything, just enjoy the prize...

the rest of us would be none the wiser

but by leaking details,,, questions get asked...

There are some miserable people around

Come on guys, please don't ruin this. We are unable to say what it is. We told everyone that from the very first post on the subject.

I'm asking you to just be nice, and accept this for what it is. Otherwise, just forget you ever heard anything about it.

I am thrilled for Rich as he will really appreciate this. I'm sure it will get out eventually, but its really not worth losing sleep over.

All the best

Simon

Question

Maybe more people would be tempted in becoming plus members if they knew what the "seriously cool" prizes they were missing the opportunity to win were. Just a thought.

Just my thoughts!
I recieved an e mail from " WEBMASTER " regarding a competition where a great prize could be won! Not once did it say that if you did not win you would never know what you could have won!
If you liked rallying, you had to say so, i said so, i havnt won! Fair enough, but i would have liked to know what i could have won!
Tell you what, lets not tell Arsenal what they could have won last year after playing 40 odd football matches!

Like i said, just my thoughts!!!!!!!!!

OK

My apologies.

Next time we have something great to give away (but can't - due to real and important reasons - disclose what it is) we'll just say "no thanks".

I am seriously irritated to see the ridiculous comments on this thread. This is a GOOD THING. The thread CLEARLY stated that we will not be able to disclose what the prize is.

We were given something really great and special to give away to two of our members. We had a choice. Either say "No thanks!" or give them away. We did not have the CHOICE to be able to say "Ok, but we'll tell everyone what it is".

This was never agreed that this prize would be given to anyone, so you haven't lost anything. This is the ONLY prize we've given away where we haven't disclosed full details of the prize.

Can you not accept that we have a bloody good reason for not sharing this, and just be happy that at least SOMEONE got something great out of it?

I could have just kept them, and I'm starting to wish I had.

Regards

PS. Isn't it interesting to see the oposites of the spectrum from phil_stephens actually giving up his chance of even being included in that draw, because he took it on trust that the prize would benefit someone of more interest in rallying.

Does Phil walk on water or turn water into wine. I feel a lump in my throat hearing of his sacrafice

The cloak and dagger stuff does pi$$ a few people off. Personally I congratulate the winners on such a wonderful and truly amazing prize, whatever it was.

Does it really matter whether we know or not; although folk posting that they know but won't tell is bound to wind a few folk up.

Not me, I'm too drunk to care

I'm happy for the winner. And am actually quite pleased I don't know what the prize is /was, what I don't know I missed, I can't
regret losing or be jealous over. I am curious, but am quite happy that Simon has said it can't be disclosed.

Don't put Simon off doing this again by bitching like kids.
