What happened to the Scoobs at TOTBII ??

Andy,
all the more impressive then - although even if he didn't pay for it directly there were a lot of hours work on that car.
Some of us have time, some of us have money - some of us have neither!
Sticky,
there was a rumour in the paddock that Harvey's engine was rebuilt in time for Sunday. Not sure if it was true.

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
I had a crap driver = me.. and a crap car..
needed another weeks work.. and a revcounter instead of a laptop would have helped..

Rob, your taking the pi55 surely. Trout was getting 1.6s 0 to 60ft times consistantly, i was eventually getting 1.8's.
Felly's starts were crap, even by his own admission, although he did get better in mine on the handling circuit.
David, was just lack of experience IMO.
Hard to be sympathetic and brutal at the same time

Cool, thanks for that, i know my starts are not brilliant, but then you learn with experience.
Andy has done loads of 1/4 stuff AFAIk, so would be better in other peoples cars, i am sure.
For you Rob, i will try harder next time
Sorry to dissapoint you, but i had fun, enjoyed the day, and knew i was not gonna come anywhere near winning, not with my power.

HOLD ON A MOMENT...
Yep there were some very quick Skyline's & Evo's there but what BHP were the running at.
A bit more than the breathed on scoobs I think.
Stands well back and lights blue touch paper

Most impressive scoob for me was the legacy, no disrespect to the others (Andy F as impressive as last time at Elvington) but what a sleeper the legacy was, and what a weapon! That would scare the s**t out of a lot of people on the road who had no idea what it was. Not sure what his best qtr was, but 12.0 while we were watching.

I think with the power and the money spent on the scoobs against the skylines and evos the scoobs stood up well. the Skylines had fortunes spent on them and the evos looked very serious too .

Michaels leagcy was a secret weapon last year, ran very well. Shame it stopped working
I think we did well TBH, as there were really only 2 big power scoobs running that i knew of, being Andy and Bob (Davids was still learning, running in etc), so give that the others were all around 350ish, i think the times were good, but could have been better with good launches

If anyone see's Rob this week give him a slap on the back
Here's my opinion..... uh oh. The scoob's weren't coming even close to the skylines, but then what do you expect? Those skylines have literally had £100,000's spent one them, even then some went "pop." Scoob's are fairly "easy" to get to 330-340 bhp, then you have to throw in some serious cash to get the power RELIABLY higher.
SO, a 330-340 bhp does a high 11 low 12 and a top speed of 160 ish unless you fiddle with a long 6th etx (mucho money again). On the handing circuit though I expected them to do well, but the higher BHP boys were getting around quicker as they could have as many goes and just try and hang on where as the scoobs got round easily, I didn't see any spin, but I wasn't there all the time. The skylines spun a few times
Thats just the way it is and it ain't gonna cut the mustard at TOTB were you need to be good at all 3 to get in the prizes.
If you want to seriously mod a scoob you will need to get the engine out and build it like it should have been built to start with.... now I don't know any of the specs of what was running in the scoobs engines, or even claim to know a con rod from a fuel rail, but I'd be suprised if all the engines could internally keep up. Bigger turbos, ***** loadsa boost, FMIC, decats, induction and a remap aint enough and will kill the engine after a few full bore launches.

Cheers Rob (cheque's in the post ) I had 'at least' one real cr4p launch, one was alongside a red skyline with an external wastegate pipe sticking out behind the front wheel, which just deafened me to my own engine noise when his WG opened on launch and I tootled off at 2000 rpm ........
PS - My car for sale at £10k.....that 'might' buy you a Skyline gearbox (less vat, delivery and fitting of course )

Rob, truth isnt hurting, i want to know what it looked like from a spectators point of view, i now know
I did not have a great deal of time on the handling circuit, as i wanted John to drive, so that he at least had some fun on the day.
Perhaps i took the wrong approach to this event, as just going out to enjoy myself and have fun was not quick enough.
Maybe next time???

Rob,
A little unfair. UK Scooby drivers are hardly well known for being "1/4 milers", unlike some of the other marques, who live for it. The top EVO's, and Skylines are reputed to have cost in the region of £70,000 to £100,000................
It would have been great if all the cars could have been finished, and set up earlier, and it wasn't for the want of trying, just that sometimes, sh*t happens.
Next year, you can show us all how it should be done, and give us those driving lessons first I KNOW I need them !!!!
Mark.

I didnt see my evo ruling anything - apart from how NOT to do a full throttle launch lol!
What happened to the supposed 450 plus bhp 2.0 scoobs? my 330bhp evo was quicker than them
The 450bhp Seahaven Motorsport Evo was getting 11.2's
Chris (with a fried clutch)
