Air Filter and STi8
#1
Hi
I was just about to fit my HKS air filter to my STi8 (due for PPP fitment next week) when I read a post in the technical section about the ECU checking the air intake temperature and limiting the boost!
Is this correct because if it is I assume as may as well stick the standard air box back on!
Thanks in advance
Andy

Andy,
IIRC that no gains can be made fitting one on a MY01> PPP versions only losses such as MAF sensor failure, engine leaning out and loss of Warranty
Inductin kits can be Programmed in to get gains but no allowances are made for them on PPP'd ECU's hence the problem. IMHO

sorry pants !!!
If you want to try a STI-8 PPP with a HKS RSK feel free to come to the next kent meet the car picks up much better had no problems and have been driving the car very hard recently in this hot weather and not even a problem.
accidently missed a gear the other day and had the car bouncing of the rev limiter with all the mods on the car and it is fine, if it was going to go bang trust me it would have done it the other day,
although you might as well use your warranty as toilet paper if you mod your scoob
