I know this has been done before and probably by me as well but just how good is PPP.

The way I see it nearly everyone has it done and rants and raves about it. So therefore it must be brilliant. However I have had a wee play with a couple of equivilent PPP cars on the road (well I think they were anyway) and I cant notice much difference between them and me. Mine isnt completely standard (just an exhaust and induction kit change) but I havent had one pull away from me yet. Maybe they arent trying I dont know. Maybe I need to drive one with it, but so far I remain unconvinced...

Anyone agree??? Like your gonna ....hahahahahaha

What top end boost does your car run TVR Gary? Say at 6000 RPM in 4th gear?

Wouldnt have a clue to be honest with you. When it went on the RR it didnt drop power all the way up and past the red line. It flattened out but didnt drop. As for boost no idea, not that technical im afraid.
Hey I may be totally wrong and if I drove one my opinion might change but I havent been convinced yet. Maybe my choice of exhaust etc is good enough to make it close to a PPP car, i dont know?

Some cars with decats boost creep at the top, so you are getting more boost which gives you up to 300 BHP typically. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on the car.

It could detonate. Best have a knocklink if you are running a decat IMHO.

I have already got the idea in my head to get one thanks.

Last thing just seen the other PPP thread on here talking about 0-100MPH times etc. I run a 13.4 at santa pod at 105MPH i think, so i must have done 0-100 in around 13seconds yes? That compares with the majority of PPP figures for the same. Not that im saying 0-100 is the bee all coz it isnt. Torque is far more important.

Any of you guys done the 1/4 mile in your STI7 or 8 using PPP? and what did you acheive?

Wink

Gary,
STi7 std versis a STi7 with miltek versis a STI7 PPP
on going for glory and setting limiter buzzer at 6.5 on open track not much difference!!!

On a straight line differences will be about reaction and gear change times.

Take your foot off for, corners or a slow car and you will notice
Through twisties my PPP version will be held up by a Miltek

Just book a demo drive at a dealer and job done..it's not complicated.
I had the PPP fitted to mine and it improved the car tremendously. When I sold the car 5 months later I got an extra £1k from the dealer when I mentioned it was PPP'd. The long term difference in cost between PPP and a full exhaust and decat solution is less than you think when you consider that at resale PPP'd car has a full warranty and zorst-only mods don't add any value come resale.
I'm not knocking either solution...for me, knowing I rarely own a car for a year, the full warranty and ease of resale was vital.
