Had a GGR boost gauge fitted on Sti Version 3 yesterday. Although when the car is turned off the gauge reads 0, when the engine is idling the boost is always reading negative. Is this normal? In fact, even when I boot it the highest reading is about 0.6 bar and in first gear it never gets that high. Is this normal or is the gauge not calibrated correctly - or is my car running lower boost than it should be. I know this has probably been raised before so sorry if you are repeating stuff!

The gauge also measures manifold vacuum, you will only see positve presure, when the turbo is running fast enough to provide boost.
This is on MY99 at about 2400, rpm and only produces max boost at wide open throttle, in 4th/5th gear.
It reads about 0.9 bar on my gauge, would have thought the sti's produce a little more than you are getting, could be the hot whether though.
